In March of this year, BBE released a double mix CD album celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the label’s ground breaking Beat Generation series, which featured no holds barred artist albums from the likes of J Dilla, Pete Rock, Jazzy Jeff, Will I Am, Madlib and MFSB string arranger Don Cello. The CD version of the anniversary album featured 2 full length mixes from NY’s DJ Spinna and the UK’s Mr Thing. The digital version featured both those mixes, a full length mix from me and a selection of unmixed tracks from the series.
Having just completed my double mix album for BBE’s 15th Anniversary later this year, I thought this would be a good time to give anyone who didn’t catch my previous mix a chance to hear it, so I’ve just added to my Mixcloud page a half hour extract of my mix from the Beat Generation release covering the hip hop side of the series’ output.
