Stones Throw are giving away this great 6 track EP from man of the moment Mayer Hawthorne featuring a selection of cover versions of original tracks from original artists ranging from the Northern Soul obscurities The Festivals to electro pop soul duo Chromeo. It’s a varied and enjoyable listen, with his cover of the Isley Brothers’ ‘Work To Do’ being a must listen. I could go on, but there’s nothing I could usefully add that isn’t adequately covered by Hawthorne’s own track by track run down which you can read over on the Stone’s Throw site here.
